Assistant Informant (Sahayak Suchak-सहायक सूचक) works under the Nepal Government's Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, specifically the National Investigation Department (राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान विभाग). 

The examination scheme for selecting the Sahayak Suchak (Non-Gazetted Fourth Level) position involves three stages. The scheme seeks candidates who possess the requisite skills and qualities for this crucial role. 

First Stage

The first stage comprises a Written Examination in which candidates will be evaluated on various aspects relevant to the position. A total of 200 marks is allotted. The medium of the written examination will be either Nepali or English. The use of mobile phones and any other electronic devices is not allowed in the written exam.

First Paper

The First Paper for the Sahayak Suchak (Assistant Informant) selection exam is the General Knowledge and General Mental Ability Test. It consists of Objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam consists of 50 MCQs, each worth two marks, and students should complete it within 45 minutes. The total exam mark is 100; students should get 40 marks to pass the examination. 

In case of incorrect answers in multiple-choice questions, each answer will deduct 20% of the marks allotted to that question. However, no marks will be deducted for unanswered questions. The use of any calculator is not permitted in multiple-choice questions.

Second Paper

The Second Paper will ask subjective questions in Nepali, English, and Mathematics. The total marks allocated for these subjects are 40, 30, and 30 marks, respectively. Students have to secure 40 marks out of 100 to pass the examination. The total duration of the examination is 2 hours and 30 minutes only.  

Separate answer sheets will be provided for each section in the subject-specific questions. Candidates must write their answers to each section in the respective answer sheet provided for that section.

Although the curriculum may include topics or subjects not explicitly mentioned in the examination syllabus, candidates must understand laws, regulations, rules, and policies established up to three months before the examination date (including amendments, revisions, or additions).

Second Stage 

Following successful completion of the first stage, candidates proceed to the second stage, a Comprehensive Health Examination, to ensure their physical fitness for the role's demands. Only candidates who pass the first phase (written examination) will be eligible to participate in this stage. 

Comprehensive Health Examination Successful candidates will be conducted by a hospital or health institution owned by the Government of Nepal. 

Only candidates selected from the comprehensive health examination will be eligible to participate in the third phase interview examination.

Third Stage

Finally, the third stage involves an Interview, where candidates will have the opportunity to showcase their suitability for the position. A total of 30 marks are allocated. 

The final examination result will be published based on the total marks obtained in the first phase (written examination) and the third phase (interview).

This multi-stage examination process ensures a rigorous and fair assessment of candidates, ultimately selecting individuals best suited to serve as Assistant Informants within the National Investigation Department.

Eligibility

Necessary Minimum Educational Qualification

For eligibility for the Assistant Informant position, candidates must have obtained educational qualifications through the grading system of at least SLC or SEE or equivalent from a recognized academic institution, with a GPA of 2 or above. If the educational qualification has been obtained from a foreign educational institution, an equivalency determination certificate issued by the Nepali government entity must also be submitted.

Age Limit for Candidates

Candidates must have completed 18 years but have yet to exceed 25 years as of the first day of Baisakh for the year in which selection for the Assistant Informant position is to be made.
