The examination for the Lab Assistant position is conducted in two phases: Written Examination and Interview.

Written Examination (200 Marks)

The written examination is conducted through two papers, each worth 100 marks, totaling 200 marks. The examinations are held separately on the same day. The medium language of the written examination paper will be either Nepali or English, depending on the language in which the course content is given. However, both languages can be used when the content needs to be clarified.

The first paper of the examination comprises of objective multiple-choice questions from two subjects:

  1. General Awareness and Public Management
  2. Job-Based Knowledge

The General Awareness and Public Management subject consists of 20 questions, each worth two marks, totaling 40 marks. The Job-Based Knowledge subject will consist of 30 questions, each worth two marks, totaling 60 marks.

Both subjects combine for 50 questions worth 100 marks. To pass this 45-minute exam, an examinee should achieve at least 40 marks.

In the objective multiple-choice exam, the examinee should write the answer in English capital letters: A, B, C, D. If small letters are written: a, b, c, d, or any other indication, all the answer sheets will be canceled.

In the objective multiple-choice question, incorrect answers receive a 20% negative mark, and marks for unanswered questions are neither awarded nor deducted. Using a calculator is not permitted during the objective multiple-choice question examination.

The second written examination paper will consist of subjective questions about Job-Based Knowledge. It consists of 12 short answer questions (60 Marks) and 4 long answer questions (40 Marks), for 16 questions worth 100 Marks.

For subjective questions, a single long question or a long question with two or more parts or short notes under a single question may be asked.

Each section of the subjective papers will have separate answer sheets, and the examinee must write the answers in the answer book of the same section.
