The Forest Guard (Ban Rakshak)/Game Scout selection examination is done by Lok Sewa Aayog (Public Service Commission). The curriculum contains three phases,

It contains two parts, a physical examination and a fitness test.
Only candidates who meet the following specified criteria in the physical test will be eligible to apply. If the applicants fail to meet the specified criteria in the physical test, they will be personally responsible.

Only candidates selected in the first phase (the physical test) will be allowed to participate in the fitness test.
When starting the events of this test, they must be completed sequentially from serial numbers 1 to 4. Candidates who fail in the event at serial number 1 or former events will not be allowed to participate in the subsequent events.

Candidates who successfully pass all the events specified in the fitness test will be eligible to participate in the written examination.
The medium of the written examination will be either Nepali or English, or both Nepali and English. For each incorrect answer on the objective multiple-choice questions, 20% of the marks will be deducted. However, no marks will be awarded or deducted for unanswered questions.
An oral interview of 20 minutes duration will be conducted for the selected candidates. Candidates for the third phase (interview) will be selected based on the total marks obtained in the first phase )of the fitness test) and the second phase (of the written examination).
The final results will be published based on the combined marks of the physical fitness test (first phase), the written examination (second phase), and the interview.
Passed Grade 8 from a recognized education institution and is physically fit.
Candidates must be at least 18 and not exceed 35. The age limit for female and disabled candidates is 40. There will be no age limit for permanent civil service, provincial civil service, and local government employees.
Despite any provisions mentioned in this Ban Rakshak syllabus, the laws, regulations, and policies included in the syllabus that are in force three months before the examination date (whether amended, repealed, or newly added) will be considered part of this syllabus.
