NLP is a subfield of computer science, artificial intelligence, and linguistics and concerned with the interactions between human language and computers, in particular how to instruct computers to process and analyze large amounts of natural language data. We will have presenter Dr. Bikash Gyawali and commentator Er. Birodh Rijal.

Dr. Bikash Gyawali is a researcher in the field of AI and Data Science. He is currently working as a Data Scientist at the Spencer Group, the UK where he leads a project on document analysis and interpretation. His research interests include natural language processing, machine learning, and big data analysis. His works have been published in a number of international venues covering topics in natural language generation, semantic parsing, open science practices, etc. In this talk, Dr. Gyawali will present an overview of natural language processing; outlining the current practices in academia and industry.

Er. Birodh Rijal is CEO of Semantro Pvt. Ltd. He is an ICT professional with a background in Education, research, and software development. His experience ranges from an academician, researcher to software engineering manager and solution architect. He has worked with a software project that has Artificial Intelligence capability and is scalable in architecture. Over the years he has focused on exploiting the power of AI in providing novel solutions to challenging problems. He has successfully managed and implemented dozens of software projects. He is interested in Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning based systems. He has worked with various NLP projects in Nepali Languages.
