Swostishree Gurukul Model United Nations to Kick Off on Ashar 20

Swostishree Gurukul IB World School is set to organize the fourth edition of its inter-school conference- Swostishree Gurukul Model United Nations (SGMUN) 4.0 on Ashar 20. The three-day event will bring together students from over 40 schools from both inside and outside the Kathmandu Valley.

The participants in the event will engage in intensive discussions across eight different committees, addressing a range of pressing global issues. Representing various countries, student delegates will not only role-play as diplomats but also explore practical solutions to real-world challenges.

Venue: Swostishree Gurukul IB World School, Sanobharyang, Kathmandu

The event will be organized by Grade 10 students.  Zenith Karki of Grade 10 will be serving as Deputy Secretary-General, while Adhish Binod Pokharel of Grade 11 will be serving as General Secretary in the event.

According to the school's Principal, Neha K.C., SGMUN 4.0 is aligned with the school’s vision of "Today’s Learning, Tomorrow’s Leadership." The conference aims to take students beyond the confines of classrooms and textbooks by fostering skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, effective reasoning, and awareness of global politics. The event is also expected to provide insights into the workings of international conferences and encourage acceptance of diverse perspectives.
