Artificial Intelligence: Then, Now and Beyond, Talk Session with Dr. Shailesh Kumar is being held on 22nd November, 2019. The event is the first of many efforts by Rosebay Group, NAAMI and Prime College who all carry a shared vision of building a strong foundation of research and innovation driven ecosystem in the field of data science and AI for Nepal. This event shall act as a huge milestone in fulfilling our commitment of making Nepal a world class AI centre of excellence. 

The organizers have invited highly qualified personnel in the field, Dr. Shailesh Kumar. Dr. Kumar draws experience from both industrial and academic sectors in the field of Artificial Intelligence. At present, he is the Chief Data Scientist at Reliance Jio and a visiting faculty at Indian School of Business. Previously, he worked at top technology firms like Google, Microsoft and Yahoo.

Target Audience and Impact:

As the famous saying goes, “Building advanced AI is like launching a rocket. The first challenge is to maximize acceleration, but once it starts picking up speed, you also need to focus on steering.” The primary target audience of this event are the AI engineers who aspire to be better in this field, the steerers of AI. The secondary target audience of this event are the young students, the acceleration maximisers who wish to build a better future in AI. The biggest impact of this event is expected to be utilization of Dr. Shailesh Kumar’s wisdom and insight in the field of AI by AI engineers and future AI engineers. Another impactful consequence that we are hoping for is to spark interest in AI for any possible audience.

Dr. Shailesh Kumar is the Chief Data Scientist at Reliance Jio and also a very well-known speaker amongst esteemed forums such as TEDx, World Economic Forum, NASSCOM, and so on. His expertise lies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Understanding, Knowledge Graphs, Computer Vision, Speech Processing, Bioinformatics, Information Theory, Signal Processing, Graph Theory, Game Theory, Optimisation, Statistical Pattern Recognition, Data Mining, Time Series Analysis and Visualization.
