FOSS4G- ASIA 2021: KUSOE
Kathmandu University by the Department of Geomatics Engineering with support from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Land Management Training Centre is hosting 'FOSS4G-Asia 2021'. A workshop has been scheduled for September 30 and a conference for October 1 and 2 in Dhulikhel.
FOSS4G-Asia 2021 conference is an international conference for Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial Community. FOSS4G-Asia 2021 aims to support the global agenda of sustainable development goals including land management and contribute to Artificial Intelligence and IOT by bringing researchers, professionals, private developers, students, and all the stakeholders from worldwide in general and Asia in specific together in one platform.
Following themes will be covered by the 3-day event:
- People to land relationship and urban system
- Web, mobile, and location-based services
- Spatial land use planning and decision support system
- Artificial intelligence for geospatial applications
- Geospatial technologies in agriculture, forest, and Environment
- Innovative technologies, research, and experience sharing in geospatial capacity development
- FOSS4G for disaster and pandemic
- geospatial applications in citizen science
- Geospatial plugins, packages, and platform development
Considering the situation brought by the Covid-19 pandemic at a global scale and the current situation in the country towards 'New Normal', The event has been planned for 'Hybrid Mode'.
