Get Free CounselingAviation programs are gaining traction in Nepal as the country's aviation sector grows alongside its expanding tourism industry. Currently, two universities offer bachelor-level programs in this field. Though the programs differ slightly in name and focus, both aim to produce skilled professionals capable of managing airline, airport, and aviation-related operations.
Kathmandu University offers a Bachelor of Aviation Management (BAM), a four-year, 120-credit-hour program focused on managing aviation operations, airlines, and airports, covering areas such as aviation law, air traffic control, airport planning, and aviation finance. Sripatum University, through Yeti International College, offers a Bachelor of Airlines Business Management (BABM), which blends core business management education with specialized aviation training in airline operations, airport management, ticketing and reservation systems, and aviation safety and security.
Two institutions currently offer bachelor-level aviation programs in Nepal. Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute (SVI) in Banepa, Kavrepalanchok, offers the BAM program under Kathmandu University. Yeti International College in Buddhanagar, Kathmandu, offers the BABM program under Sripatum University, Thailand.
While the BAM program leans more toward general aviation management, the BABM program has a stronger airline-business orientation with hands-on training in ticketing, reservations, and ground services. Both programs prepare graduates for careers across airlines, airports, and aviation-related organizations in Nepal and abroad.
