Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) announces the launch of the Integrated Bachelor of English Studies and Bachelor of Education (TESOL) program, starting August 2024.

The Bachelor of Arts in English Studies and Bachelor of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (BA-BEd) is a dual degree program that is interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary in nature. Spanning eight semesters, it includes courses on specialization and sub-specialization. The program offers major and minor coursework based on the specific requirements defined by the relevant department or school. The degree takes between 4.5 to 5 years to complete, depending on additional coursework.
This program, offered at KUSOED, addresses social and educational issues while preparing future teachers. It aims to transform the new generation by fostering an understanding of social and educational discourses and promoting social justice through engaged pedagogy. Students will acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to apply these principles in diverse social contexts.
Additionally, the program encourages critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and ethical values, preparing students to become lifelong learners, educators, and social entrepreneurs. It allows students to align their interests and passions with their professional goals through various interdisciplinary options.

Eligibility
- A minimum D+ grade in each Grade 12 subject, with a minimum CGPA of 1.8 OR
- A minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL or equivalent in any discipline.
