The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Technology (BScCST) is a four-year undergraduate program of Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology (MBUST), launched in 2026. BSc CSIT program of MBUST is designed to prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital economy and emerging technology sectors.

It integrates theoretical foundations, practical applications, innovation, and research-oriented learning across Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science (DS), Internet of Things (IoT), Robotics, and related digital technologies. Structured as a research-aligned academic pathway, the program develops students' competencies progressively from foundational scientific thinking and technical skills toward independent research and innovation.

Through outcome-based education, project-based learning, industry engagement, and research-integrated teaching, it aims to produce graduates who are industry-ready, research-oriented, and capable of contributing to Nepal's digital transformation and global technological advancement.

Eligibility

A candidate applying for the BScCST program must meet one of the following:

  • School Leaving Certificate (grade 12) with optional subjects Mathematics and Physics, and CGPA of 2.75 out of 4.
  • A Level with Mathematics and Physics, securing Grade C or above in each subject.
  • Diploma in Engineering with second division or above.
  • Or equivalent to any of the above.

Note: Applicants who fall short of the CGPA threshold but demonstrate exceptional merit may be shortlisted, with the understanding that the University may still deem them ineligible.

  • Shortlisting: Based on the cumulative score of academic performance and personal statement. The number shortlisted will not exceed double the planned intake.
  • Final selection: Based on the cumulative score of all criteria.
  • Writing and interview take place at the University premises in Chitlang.
  • Applicants must submit names and contact details of two referees willing to be interviewed by the University.

Documents Required

Mandatory: Grade 12 academic transcript; personal statement (1,400–1,500 words); citizenship certificate/passport; CV; bank voucher for the Rs. 500 application fee.

Optional: Extracurricular certificates; additional transcripts; other documents (not more than five).

For disadvantaged-group scholarship: Application for scholarship; proof of disadvantaged-group status.
