Entrance Exams
Bachelor in Science (B. Sc.) in Environmental Management is introduced for the production of qualified environmental management professionals with leadership quality and problem solving aptitude. The unique feature of this academic program is the integration of scientific, social, cultural economic aspects of the environment. The Environmental Management degree builds on the understanding of the planning systems and processes of environmental changes and offers training in the management techniques, required to put into effect the principle of sustainable development.
Objective
The main objectives of B. Sc. Programme are to:
- provide understanding about environment, environmental issues, problems and it's interrelationship with other related fields;
- produce qualified environmental managers who can make decisions independently on diverse environmental issues;
- familiarize and equip the students with environmental management tools and make them eligible for higher studies and research;
- Apply the concepts of environmental management and environmental analysis in the professional areas.
Duration of the Program
The program of study for the Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management is over a period of eight semesters (four academic years) covering a total of 120 credit hours. The academic year begins normally in the month of September each year.
Eligibility
The candidates should have completed Class 12 examination of NEB or equivalent level in Science and Technology stream such as Forestry, Agriculture, Veterinary/ Engineering from a recognized academic institution. The candidates should have scored a minimum of 45% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (in a scale of 4.0) and at least Grade C (in case of A-level, at least Grade D) or 45% in the following subjects.
- Physics - Chemistry or Environment related subjects, e.g., Environmental Management, Pollution, etc.
- Mathematics or Biology or Zoology or Botany or Computer Science

After completion of this B. Sc. Degree, the graduates are expected to be employed in the following areas:
- National and local level organizations, ministries, departments, district offices and municipalities with the capability of mid-level officers or managers;
- Consulting firms and research institutions as research assistants;
- Private companies and public corporations;
- National and international organizations, CBOs working in environmental field;
- Environmental quality monitoring, assessment laboratories.
