Aviation has become an indispensable aspect of contemporary life, providing a convenient, safe, and swift means of transportation. In Nepal, the aviation sector has witnessed significant growth over the past decade, playing a crucial role in the expansion of the tourism industry. As a contracting member of ICAO, Nepal is committed to adhering to and exceeding the organization's standards, with a strong focus on enhancing human resources in the aviation sector. Despite this commitment, the industry faces a shortage of qualified and skilled professionals, especially at the managerial level. This shortfall is primarily due to the lack of specialized aviation management courses in Nepal.

Experts in the field have emphasized the necessity of introducing aviation management courses. They have noted that such programs, if offered at reputable universities, could attract students from neighboring countries as well. Aviation management courses have been successfully established in several South Asian countries, including India and Sri Lanka. It is now imperative for Nepal to design a similar course tailored to the demands of its local market.
