Bachelor of Fashion Design and Management (BFDM) program is the 1st of its kind Bachelors course of 4 years (8 semesters) in Fashion in Nepal and was introduced in 2016.
The BFDM program is the successor to Bachelor of Fashion Design (BFD) program, which was Nepal's 1st ever Bachelors course of 3 years (6 semesters) in Fashion introduced by us in 2002.
The BFDM program is based on an exceptional and international standard curriculum that stimulates creativity and innovation among students and prepares them for professional excellence in this challenging industry.
Under the program, students are trained intensively in the theoretical, practical and technical aspects of fashion design by an outstanding team of faculty members within a highly supportive learning environment.
Students become adept in coming up with innovative design concepts backed with the proficiency to bring those to life through use of basic as well as advanced processes and techniques in areas such as sketching, patternmaking, draping, embroidery, apparel design, clothing construction, textile design/analysis, computer aided design etc.
Additionally, the program will provide students with a strong understanding of the historical perspectives and theories of fashion along with the global concepts and practices of the business/marketing side of it.
By the time of graduation, the program will have transformed students into versatile fashion specialists geared for success in this incredibly creative and exciting field.
Eligibility
The candidates need successful completion of +2 or equivalent exams with a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in any faculty/stream from any college/university/board recognized by Purbanchal University, Nepal. Students who are waiting the results of their +2 exam can also apply on a provisional basis. Previous training in fashion designing is not necessary for admission.
