Animal Health & Livestock Services Professional Council

About

With the primary objective of registering and regulating technical personnel ranging from basic-level technicians to subject matter experts working in the field of animal health and animal services in Nepal, the Federal Parliament passed the Animal Health and Animal Service Professionals Council Act, which was certified by the Honorable President on Ashwin 23, 2079 (October 9, 2022). Under this Act, the Council was formed.

The Act stipulates that all personnel working in animal health and animal services, such as livestock, poultry, fisheries, and dairy science professionals, except those eligible to register with the Nepal Veterinary Council, must register with the Council. Within the scope of this Act, provincial laws will be formulated, and the designated body determined by those laws will register personnel at the provincial level. Until provincial laws are enacted, the Council performs all related tasks.

The Act clearly states that one is allowed to practice business related to animal health and animal services if registering with the Council, and any such practice without registration is punishable. The Council comprises an executive committee with 19 members, including a President, Vice President, Registrar, and other members.
