A four-year Bachelor of Arts in Social Work degree is offered by Tribhuvan University. BSW is an interdisciplinary education that incorporates theoretical concepts from social sciences while keeping social work objectives and principles. As a result, rather than adopting a reductionist approach to practice, social work education promotes a holistic and integrated approach. The paradigms of social work practice are ontology, epistemology, and axiology, or values, principles, and procedures to one or more.

Objectives of BSW at Pentagon International College

  • To deliver the best possible education.
  • Moral and social values should be reinforced in children.
  • To develop a welcome teaching and learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
  • Students should be familiar with modern technology in order to cope with the fast-paced world.
  • To foster both socially responsible and creative entrepreneurs.
  • To prepare graduates who are committed to continuing their education throughout their life in order to advance personally and professionally.
  • To create an environment that encourages overall development.

Goals of Social Work

  • People's problem-solving, coping, and developing skills should all be improved.
  • Access to resources, services, and opportunities should be made available to everyone.
  • To promote the creation of effective and humane service systems.
  • To design and improve social policies.

Functions of Social Work

  • Detecting/ identifying, supporting/ aiding, advising/ counseling, advocating/ enabling, and assessing are all steps in the evaluation process.
  • Referrals, organizing, mobilizing, negotiating, swapping, brokering, and advocacy are just a few of the services college does.
  • All areas of development, oversight, coordination, consultation, evaluation, and staff development are handled by administration and management.
  • Policy development and analysis, as well as policy advocacy, are some of the services college provide.

Scope of Social Work

The discipline of social work encompasses a wide range of activities. Elementary schools, the military, businesses, factories, and offices, federal, state, and local government agencies and legislative bodies, private practice as an individual, family, and marriage therapists in hospitals and mental health facilities, courts and correctional facilities, and home health care and services are just some of the places where social workers work. Because social work is a relatively new subject in Nepal, there is plenty of space for it to develop. It hadn't yet proven its worth as a professional.
