The Medical Education Commission (MEC) invites online applications from eligible foreign candidates for the Common Entrance Examination (MECEE PG-2025) for postgraduate programs in health professions offered by various universities and academic institutions in Nepal.

Application Details

  • Eligibility: Foreign nationals (Sub-category I: Required to appear & Sub-category II: Not required to appear).
  • Application Period:
    • Regular Fee: 2nd December 2024, 10:00 AM to 22nd December 2024, 4:00 PM
    • Double Fee: 22nd December 2024, after 4:00 PM to 29th December 2024, 4:00 PM
  • Submission Portal: https://entrance.mec.gov.np

Foreign candidates are encouraged to complete their applications within the given timeframe.

Applicants intending to apply for multiple programs must pay separate fees for each program, either through bank vouchers or via online payment through the application portal. Information on seat distribution will be announced later on the official website.

While completing the online application form, candidates must select one of the following subcategories:

  • Sub-category I: Foreign candidates required to appear for MECEE-PG 2025.
  • Sub-category II: Foreign candidates exempt from MECEE-PG 2025 but eligible to apply based on achieving a rank above the 50th percentile (or 50% marks in percentage-based systems) in a recent MEC-approved national-level examination.

Eligibility

  1. Candidates under Sub-category I, who participate in the entrance examination conducted by the Medical Education Commission, will have priority in the open house match for foreign seats.
  2. If any seats remain vacant after the merit-based selection of Sub-category I candidates, they will be offered to Sub-category II (Foreign NOT to appear) candidates based on merit.
  3. Any seats left unfilled after the matching process for foreign candidates will be converted into paying seats for Nepali candidates.
  4. Foreign candidates admitted to the program must present original documents at admission.
  5. Submission of false information or forged documents will result in legal action under Nepal's prevailing laws.

Required Documents

  1. The last six digits of the transaction reference number (TRN/request unique ID/transaction code) and the candidate’s mobile number (for bank counter payments).
  2. A recent passport-sized photograph.
  3. A scanned copy of the passport or E-Aadhaar card.
  4. A scanned copy of the signature.
  5. A scanned copy of the transcript and relevant bachelor’s degree certificate(s) or equivalent.
  6. A scanned copy of the Professional Council registration certificate from the respective country.
