On 31st March 2022, City & Guilds South Asia Private Limited, a vocational training initiative from City & Guilds, London, UK launched its first Institute in Nepal. The courses will be offered by XCEL International Education and the Institute will be run in collaboration with The British College.
The new centre will initially offer courses related to Hospitality, with the aim of opening up excellent employment opportunities for all age groups in Nepal. This flexible qualification has both full time and part time options and offers opportunities for various levels, ranging from class 8th pass to learners with high school education.
City & Guilds is one of the world's leading providers of work related assessments and qualifications, and their courses are specific and innovatively designed to suit industry and job specific requirements.
The innovative learning model was described by the Regional Head (India, Nepal, Bhutan) of City & Guilds South Asia Private Limited, Jayant Chauhan, as “what learners, employers, training providers and the government have been demanding”.
The Managing Director of the XCEL Education Institute, Mahendra Raj Kandel added that, “It is this gap between the current market scenario and the industry’s needs for trained skilled employees that XCEL International Education is aiming to bridge”.
