In this exclusive interview, Er. Mahesh Bhattarai, Member Secretary of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), shares his insights on how CTEVT education is different from school education.

Bhattarai notes that, typically, school programs begin with education leading to job opportunities, whereas CTEVT programs are driven by existing job demands He stresses the importance of connecting the CTEVT programs with market-driven industrial, commercial, and trade sectors to fulfill their core goal of equipping students with life-sustaining skills.

Bhattarai also shares CTEVT’s operation, problems, and future plan to introduce its act, which focuses on providing training according to market demands rather than fulfilling market demands. He also shares how he is working to maintain transparency and protect constituents and affiliated educational institutions.
