The School of Medical Sciences (SMS), which is located in Kathmandu, is formally connected to the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), a national autonomous apex body of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector tasked with developing the technical and skilled human resources the nation requires. SMS has been educating interested students about basic health topics since 2004 AD. It first entered the field of health education after completing a three-year pharmacy diploma degree (DPH). The Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (CMLT) and the TSLC Lab Assistant Program was further developed into Certificate in Diagnostic Radiography Program. A diploma in civil engineering and a physiotherapy program will be introduced soon.
Since SMS has regularly fared well in CTEVT results since its beginning and currently occupies the same place each year, the proverb "morning shows a day" applies to SMS. "SMS" has established clear objectives and created a strategy to achieve excellence in all areas of technical health education.
