Small Research Proposal - Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology

The Dean's Office of the Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), Tribhuvan University, has invited research proposals from eligible faculty members under its annual Small Research Program. Interested applicants meeting the prescribed criteria are requested to submit their proposals online by Ashar 12, 2083 BS through the designated application portal. Applicants must submit their proposals along with the consent of one qualified mentor. A plagiarism checking report is mandatory, and proposals with a similarity index exceeding 12 percent will not be considered.

Eligibility of Applicants

Faculty members under the Institute of Science and Technology may apply if they meet the following requirements:

• Must not have reached retirement.
• Must be a full-time faculty member.
• Part-time faculty members may apply if they:
  • Have completed at least four years of service in the B.Sc. program; and
  • Have supervised or co-supervised at least three student project works, or have published at least one article as the first author in an SCImago-listed journal.
• Faculty members serving at constituent campuses of IOST with at least three years of continuous experience may apply.

Ineligible Applicants

The following individuals are not eligible:

• Faculty members on study leave, research leave, unpaid leave, or deputation outside the concerned campus at the time of application.
• Faculty members holding full-time administrative positions within the university for the duration of their appointment.
• Faculty members who have already received Small Research grants twice as Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) from IOST.
• Faculty members who have received research grants in the same fiscal year as Co-PI or Group Member from the TU Research Center, University Grants Commission (UGC), Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), or similar funding agencies.
