In a notice by the Medical Education Commission,, the Egyptian government has allocated scholarship seats for undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs in the academic session 2023/24. The Egyptian government has requested the selection and nomination of candidates from Nepal for these scholarships. This notification invites interested Nepali candidates to apply online through their profiles from 2080/04/15 to 2080/04/20 by 5:00 PM.

Allocation of Undergraduate Seats
Based on the distribution of scholarships' open and reserved seats from 2077 until now, the received seats have been categorized into groups as per sub-rule (10) of rule 20 of the National Medical Education Regulations, 2077 (with amendments).

Minimum Eligibility and Criteria for Undergraduate Degree
- Must be ranked in the merit list of the latest MBBS educational program, namely the MECEE-BL Examination 2023.
- Should not have obtained an overseas study permit.
- Must not be currently enrolled in any educational program.
- Not eligible for nomination for a foreign scholarship.
- Must fulfill the scholarship selection criteria set by the Egyptian government, as specified in the attached notice.
Minimum Eligibility and Criteria Post-Graduate Degree
- Must be listed in the merit order of the latest Integrated Entrance Examination (MECEE-PG 2022) results for the MD/MS (with experience) educational program.
- Should not have obtained an overseas study permit.
- Must not be currently enrolled in any educational program.
- Not eligible for nomination for a foreign scholarship.
- Must be registered with the relevant council.
- Must meet the scholarship selection criteria set by the Egyptian government, as specified in the attached notice.
- Selection for the post-graduate scholarship will be made following sub-rule (10) of rule 6 of the National Medical Education Regulations, 2077 (with amendments). Additionally, as per sub-rule (4) of rule 6 of the National Medical Education Regulations, 2077 (with amendments), the application should be submitted only with pre-qualification.
Application Process for Undergraduate Degrees
- Candidates who have appeared in the Integrated Entrance Examination conducted by the Medical Education Commission can check their status by visiting the web portal HERE. In the section, click on the 'MECEE-UL 2023' button.
- Enter the details provided during the entrance exam, including nationality, level of program, contact number, date of birth, and voucher number. Click the "Search your status" button to access your profile.
- To apply for the scholarship offered by the Egyptian government, click on the "Apply for EGYPT SCHOLARSHIP" button available on your profile. Once the application is submitted, you will see the message "Your application has been submitted successfully" displayed on your applicant profile.
Application Process for Postgraduate Degrees
- Candidates who have secured a position in the merit list of the integrated entrance examination results should visit the web portal of the Medical Education Commission at HERE. In the Check your Status section, click on the "MECEE-PG 2022" button.
- Enter the details provided during the entrance exam, such as nationality, level of the program, contact number, date of birth, and voucher number. Click the "Search your status" button to access your profile.
- Upon accessing your profile, click on the "Set college priority" button located on the right side. This will reveal the "Add college and program" button. From the dropdown menu containing 6 subjects, prioritize the subjects you wish to study under the scholarship. Finally, click on the "Save college and program priority" button. After submitting the application, the details of your priorities will be displayed in the table titled "College priority" in your applicant profile.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Selection Process
- Following the closure of the online application period, candidates will undergo selection based on the type of school indicated in the examination application form and their inclusive group and merit order, as per the Medical Education Regulations, 2077 (including amendments), and the Medical Education Integrated Entrance Examination and Student Admission Procedures, 2079.
- For this scholarship, candidates are required to follow all the necessary procedures specified by the Ministries and the Government of Egypt. It is the responsibility of the candidates to complete these procedures independently.
- If selected for the scholarship, candidates who fail to fulfill the necessary procedures and leave seats vacant will be subject to penalties in accordance with the applicable laws. The recommendation for the scholarship by the Medical Education Commission will only serve as a conditional offer until all necessary procedures are successfully completed.
