Update- June 5, 2026 (Jestha 22, 2083)
As per the provisions of the Medical Education Act and regulations, an Open House Matching program was conducted on Jestha 14, 2083 (May 28, 2026) for candidates selected under the government scholarship quota for the MBBS program.
During the matching process, candidate Rajesh Yadav (Roll No. 26123903) was selected for a scholarship seat. However, after being selected, he submitted a request stating that he did not wish to study in the institution allotted to him and therefore requested cancellation of his admission.
As the Medical Education Commission has been requested to recommend another candidate, an Open House Matching process will be conducted on Jestha 25, 2083 BS to select a candidate for the one open scholarship seat provided by the Government of Cuba in the MBBS educational program.
The selection will be made from among candidates who applied between Magh 9, 2082 BS and Magh 12, 2082 BS (until 4:00 PM) in response to the notice published by the Medical Education Commission on Magh 8, 2082 BS, and who:
- Have not been enrolled in any academic program to date, and
- Have not been selected for any foreign scholarship.

Nepal's Medical Education Commission (MEC) has announced a scholarship opportunity for one Nepali student to pursue a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in Cuba for the academic year 2026. This scholarship is offered by the Cuban government.
The MEC has opened online applications for eligible Nepali candidates who meet the specified criteria.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have appeared in the latest Integrated Entrance Examination for Bachelor Level Medical Education (MECEE-BL 2026) and be on the merit list for MBBS.
- Applicants should not have obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for foreign studies.
- Candidates must not have been nominated for any other foreign scholarship.
- Applicants should not be enrolled in any other academic program.
- The age of the applicant should be between 16 and 25 years during the application period.
- Applicants must meet the scholarship selection criteria set by the Cuban government.
