The Technology Faculty of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) is calling for proposals for innovative technology development or the improvement of existing technologies necessary for Nepal in the fiscal year 2081/82.
This program aims to identify talented Nepali citizens and collaborate with them to develop technology innovations. Interested and enthusiastic Nepali citizens are invited to submit their proposals for the project they wish to undertake within 35 days (during office hours) from the date of this notice.

Notice publish date: Asoj 16, 2081 (October 2, 2024)
Application Submission Deadline: Kartik 21, 2081 (November 6, 2081)
Applications must be submitted either at NAST's central office in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, or via email at technologyfaculty.nast@gmail.com. Handwritten proposals will not be accepted.
The proposal must not exceed 15 pages and should follow the format outlined in the guidelines available on NAST's homepage. Proposals should focus on addressing and solving issues faced by Nepali citizens. Research projects that merely present study reports without solutions will not be considered.
Furthermore, the budget for the project must not exceed NPR 10,00,000 (Ten Lakhs Only).
Selected proposals will be given a one-year timeframe to complete the project. Along with the proposal, applicants must include a copy of their citizenship certificate and a personal bio-data of no more than two pages.
Priority Research Areas for Proposals:
The focus of the research proposals should be on developing technologies to solve problems related to:
- Agriculture and Food Technology
- Energy and Transportation
- Utilization of Natural Resources
- Disaster Risk Reduction
The objective of the research should be the development of new technologies or the improvement of existing ones in these sectors, ensuring their practical use by people across various regions of Nepal and contributing to job creation.
