Madhesh Province Government, Ministry of Education and Culture, Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, Nepal, has announced a scholarship program (tuition fee only) for students from the province seeking to pursue undergraduate studies at Kathmandu University (KU) for the academic session 2083/84. As per the letter received from the Central Office of Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchowk, one student will be recommended for a tuition-fee scholarship in each of the following programs:
- B.Sc. in Environmental Science
- B.Sc. in Agriculture
- Bachelor's in Health Informatics
- B.E. in Mining Engineering
- B.E. in Chemical Engineering
- B.E. in Environmental Engineering

Eligibility:
- Applicants must have permanent residency in a district under Madhesh Province.
- Only students who have passed Class 12 in the Science faculty are eligible to apply.
- If selected, the scholarship will cover only the tuition fee in full; all other fees must be paid by the student as per university rules.
- Applicants must self-attest (certify) all copies of documents submitted with the application.
Required Documents:
- Copy of Nepali citizenship certificate (or birth registration certificate, if citizenship has not yet been obtained)
- Certificates of educational qualification
- Local-level recommendation certifying economic hardship (for financially disadvantaged students, if applicable)
- Subject-wise order of priority for the scholarship program
- Self-declaration stating whether the school attended was a government (community) or private (institutional) school
Basis for Scholarship Selection (Total 100 Marks):
(a) Academic Qualification — Maximum 60 marks

- SEE passed from a community government school: 3 marks
- SEE passed from an institutional school: 2 marks
- Class 12 passed from a community government school: 3 marks
- Class 12 passed from an institutional school: 2 marks
(d) Interview conducted by the Ministry of Education and Culture — Maximum 20 marks
- A three-member committee formed by the Ministry will interview the applicant on a specified date; applicants who do not attend the interview will not be selected regardless of other marks obtained.
- Interview marks will not be less than 40% and not more than 70%.
- The average of the marks given individually by the three committee members will be considered the final interview score.
