Embassy of India, Kathmandu invites online applications from Nepali Nationals for studying undergraduate course in Engineering (BE/B.Tech), Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Agriculture (B.Sc. –Ag.), Food Technology (B.Sc. -FT), and B.Sc. (Nursing) for the Academic Year 2025/26 in India. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their school studies in Nepal.

  • Last Date for completion of Step-3 of Online Application (filling details of Challan and uploading scanned copy of Challan and submission of complete application): July 13, 2025 (Ashad 29, 2082), up to 11:45 PM 

A qualifying/competitive Computer-Based Test (CBT)/Examination will be conducted in different centers in Kathmandu in the 4th week of July 2025 (tentatively) to select candidates for these courses. Admit Cards of eligible candidates may be downloaded from the Indian Embassy website: www.indembkathmandu.gov.in three days before the schedule date of examination

Important Notice

The Embassy of India only entertains applications directly from the applicant himself/herself.  The Embassy does not recognize or receive applications through any so called Education  Consultants/Middle-men/Agencies in Nepal. Students are advised to beware of such  unscrupulous persons/agencies. Applications found to have been received through such  agencies/persons are liable to be rejected.

Note : Class XI marks not to be included.

Selection Process

  1. Selection will be based on a qualifying/competitive Computer-Based Test (CBT)/Examination conducted by the Embassy of India. However, nomination of a name by the Embassy does not guarantee admission to any Indian colleges/ universities for the above courses.  Confirmation of admission by the Embassy will be given only after receipt of the same from  the concerned Indian University/Institution.
  2. Candidates who have already passed class XII or equivalent to 10+2 CBSE standard in India may apply. Moreover, equivalent certificate from AIU New Delhi must be produced at  the time of admission. The selection will however, depend on fulfilling of eligibility criteria.
  3. Candidates appearing in 10+2/12th standard Examination during the year 2025 may also  apply in anticipation of their results. Their selection will, however be, depend on fulfilling the above eligibility criteria. Results of the qualifying examination should be made available to the Embassy within three days after publication of Class XII results failing which the candidature is likely to be cancelled at any stage of selection process.
  4. The short-listed candidates will be informed through individual registered email. They are advised to interact solely with the Education Wing, Embassy of India, Kathmandu.
  5. Request of change of College/Institution/University after placement or transfer of  scholarship will not be entertained under any circumstances.

Instructions to Fill the Application Form

  1. Candidates are required to apply online through the website www.indembkathmandu.gov.in in English only. No other means/mode of submission of application will be accepted under any circumstances. The online registration process involves 03 (three) steps for successful registration of the application.
  2. Candidates are advised to read the Instructions and detailed Notification carefully before applying online and also all the instructions given on the main instruction page by visiting the website www.indembkathmandu.gov.in.
  3. Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in online application. Any mistake committed by the candidate shall be his/her sole responsibility. Once the application is submitted, No Change /edit will be allowed thereafter.
  4. Candidates can apply for a maximum of any two courses only, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
  5. Candidates in their own interest are advised, not to wait till the last date & time and register their application well within the time. Embassy of India shall not be held responsible, if the candidates are not able to submit their application due to last minute rush.
  6. Candidates should have a valid Study In India ID, E-mail ID and Mobile number. It should be kept active during the entire period of examination process and placement. Candidates may please ensure that percentage (%) of marks mentioned in the application form is clearly indicated against each subject of class XII. The class XII marks given in grades like A, B, C, D, E etc. should not be entered, its equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application form as per norms adopted by Examination Board.
  7. Candidates applying for BE/B.Tech course must ensure that three streams in order of their preference, out of given streams (pop-up fields only), may be chosen. Request to change of streams may not be considered at later stage (once the online form is filled).
  8. Candidates applying for admissions in NITs, IITs and IIITs through COMPEX Scholarship Examination 2025-26 should have qualified in JEE (Main) & JEE (Advance) examination (as applicable) in addition to final selection in COMPEX Scholarship Scheme.
  9. Candidates have to choose five Institutes or as provided in the online application form in order of his/her preference, out of given Institutes (pop-up field only). Request to change the Institute may not be considered at later stage (once the online form is filled).
  10. Application fee once deposited will not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances to the candidate. Submission of incorrect information by the candidate may result in forfeiture of the admission/scholarship at any stage.

How to Apply

  1. Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions have to apply online on EOI, Kathmandu website i.e. www.indembkathmandu.gov.in.
  2. For online application of the COMPEX-2025 click HERE.
  3. The candidate should fill up all the desired information in the online form correctly and register (Step-1). Candidates should take utmost care to furnish the correct details while filling in online application. Any mistake committed by the candidate shall be his/her sole responsibility. The changes /Modifications (if any) can be carried out by the candidate in the preview of the application (Step-2). Once the application is submitted (Step-2), no Change /edit will be allowed thereafter.
  4. Ensure that the size of file of scanned photograph & signature should be between 50kb-100 kb & signature between 80kb-150 in jpg/jpeg format, size of scanned copy of relevant document (as applicable) should be between 100 kb-1000 kb in jpg/jpeg/pdf format.
  5. Appearing candidates in 10+2/ 12th grade examination (whose results are not declared yet) should upload a certificate obtained from the Principal of the School certifying that he/she has appeared/appearing in 12th grade examination in 2024, with details of subjects.
  6. On completion of Step-2, the candidate will be able to download bank challan. The candidate should take a print of the bank challan.
  7. The candidate should present the bank challan printed after Step-2 & deposit the requisite fee and bank charges by presenting the bank challan printed under Step-2 to any branch of Nepal SBI Bank on all bank working days. The Bank will return to the candidate one copy of bank challan after accepting the examination fee as a token of receipt. The copy of challan will also contain a transaction / journal number.

Step - 1 (REGISTRATION)

  1. Candidates can apply online by visiting the Embassy of India, Kathmandu website.
  2. Study in India registration is mandatory for filling COMPEX-2025 application form. In case candidates does not have any Study In India ID (SII ID), candidate must visit the “Study In" India website i.e., https://studyinindia.gov.in/ and click on “Register tab and then Student Register, fill the required details and click on Register to obtain their unique SII ID, which will be used for COMPEX 2025 registration.
  3. Candidates have to click on "Register" available on this page for new Registration.
  4. Candidates will be redirected to Registration page and further needs to sign-up by filling up Name, valid Mobile Number, and valid E-mail ID.
  5. Candidates agreeing the terms & conditions may apply by clicking 'I Agree' Check box given below and then Re-verify the selected/entered values by clicking the check boxes and submit button.
  6. After submitting the above details, candidates will receive Login ID & Password on their registered E-mail ID, hence candidates are advised to cross check the E-mail ID before proceeding.

Step - 2 (FILLING-UP & SUBMISSION APPLICATION)

  1. Candidates should now click on the "Go to Application" given in the top right corner of the screen or re-login with Login ID & Password received on registered E-mail ID/Mobile Number.
  2. The candidate should now fill-up all the desired/required information i.e. Personal/Course Details, Communication Details, Educational Qualification Details etc. in the online Form correctly. Also, upload scanned images of Photo/Signature/Documents in the respective different links as per detailed guidelines for scanning and uploading given in Instruction page. The candidate can see Application under option PREVIEW before submission. The candidate should check the details filled-in and make necessary corrections, if any. However, Name, Email-Id and Mobile Number cannot be changed.
  3. Once the application is submitted (Step-2), NO Change /edit will be allowed thereafter.
  4. After submission of application, the candidate will be able to download bank challan. The candidate should take a print of the bank challan.
  5. The candidate should present the bank challan printed after submission of application & deposit the requisite fee and bank charges by presenting the bank challan to any branch of Nepal SBI Bank on all bank working days. The Bank will return to the candidate one copy of bank challan after accepting the examination fee as a token of receipt. The copy of challan will also contain a transaction/journal number

Step - 3 (FILLING-UP THE DETAILS OF CHALLAN AND UPLOADING OF SCANNED COPY OF CHALLAN)

  1. The candidates who have deposited the application processing fee may check and confirm their payment status after a minimum of 24-48 hrs of the deposit of the application processing fees (from the closing hour of Bank Business).
  2. After depositing the application fee of NPR 400/- (Nepali Rupees four hundred only) in Account No. 17725240200331 of Embassy of India at Nepal SBI bank using Challan generated after Step-2, Candidates should login with user ID and password conveyed earlier to them through e-mail under Step-1 and complete Step-3 after filling the details of Challan and uploading scanned copy of Challan received after submission of fees to the bank.

Age Limit: The minimum age required to apply is 16 years and maximum age to apply is 23 years. The date for determining the age limit is 01.07.2025.

In case, the candidate has deposited the fee at Nepal SBI and he is not able to confirm payment on COMPEX website after 48 hrs (from the closing hours of Bank Business) of the day of deposit of the fee. Then he should fill in the following details and send the same by email along with the scanned copy of the paid Challan to compexnepal2025@gmail.com
