Nepal's national junior and senior robotics teams have departed for Geneva, Switzerland, to represent the country in the international finals of the ‘AI for Good - Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026.’ The prestigious event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) under the United Nations.

The delegation, led by the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN), is set to compete against elite youth robotics teams from around the globe. The competition is scheduled to take place from July 7 to July 11, with Nepal participating in both the junior and senior categories.

Nepal enters this year’s challenge following a highly successful performance in the previous edition, where the junior team secured a silver medal and the senior team brought home a bronze. The country has a growing reputation in the field, having previously earned numerous accolades in international robotics platforms, including the FIRST Global Challenge.

The current teams were formed following a rigorous national selection process based on technical excellence.

Junior Team Members:

  • Shivali Parajuli (Pragya Kunj School, Kathmandu)

Senior Team Members:

  • Aarav Gautam (United School)
  • Sushant Gautam (Aroma College, Chitwan)
  • Sameep Khatiwada (KMC School)
  • Abriya Shrestha (United School)

The junior team is being guided by mentor Santosh Thapa Magar, while Engineer Subash Shrestha is mentoring the senior team. Kunal Sah is accompanying the delegation as the team manager.

The Nepali team's participation is supported by Ncell as the official sponsor. Furthermore, ACA MIT College IT and United School are serving as the education partners for this international endeavor.
