The cricket net practice ground constructed at Uniglobe Premier School/College, located in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, was inaugurated in a grand ceremony by international cricketer Harmeet Singh.
Harmeet Singh is a player of the United States national cricket team. He has also played T20 matches for Sudurpashchim Royals in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), where he delivered impressive performances as a standout player.
Uniglobe College, which has established itself as a reputed institution in Nepal’s education sector, has been giving high priority not only to academic excellence but also to extracurricular activities, including sports. Along with facilities for futsal and basketball, the college has now introduced cricket practice facilities to further promote the sport among students.
With the growing popularity of cricket in Nepal and increasing student interest in sports, this new facility is expected to encourage and motivate aspiring student cricketers.
Established in 2009, Uniglobe College is one of Nepal’s prestigious educational institutions affiliated with Pokhara University. The college offers academic programs such as IT, BBA, and MBA. From the academic session 2083 onwards, admissions are also open at Uniglobe Premier School/College, operated under the ownership of Uniglobe College, for Plus Two programs in the Science and Management streams.
The program was also attended by Mr. Roshan Singh, Vice President of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
Speaking at the event, the college’s Chairman, Dr. Nar Bahadur Bista, stated that the institution’s main objective is not only to help students excel academically but also to support their overall development through sports and other extracurricular activities.
Harmeet Singh also expressed his appreciation to Uniglobe College for promoting sports, especially cricket, which is globally recognized as one of the most popular games.
