Kantipath, Jamal, Kathmandu

Teach for Nepal is an organization dedicated to provide equitable educational opportunities for all Nepalese children. They foster the goal that every kid in Nepal would graduate from secondary school with the knowledge and grades necessary to pursue a university degree of their choice and achieve success in the national or global workforce.

About Teach for Nepal

Teach for Nepal (TFN) is a movement of outstanding university graduates and young professionals who are committed to end education inequity in Nepal starting with two years of fellowship teaching in public schools.

TFN also seeks to create an alumni network that will involve people both inside and outside of the educational system in order to influence fundamental change. Former Fellows will become activists and organizers, policymakers and entrepreneurs, political and social leaders, educationists and administrators - leaders in diverse sectors – with one vision: to abolish educational inequity and deliver excellent education to all children in Nepal.

TFN has collaborated with several national and international organizations to bring their objectives to the surface.

Teach for Nepal Fellowship

Teach For Nepal fellowship is a two year long, full-time paid employment opportunity. During the two years, Fellows teach in public schools and bring about academic achievement and transformative impact in their students. At the same time, they harness their leadership skills through the teaching experience and intensive development training and support.

Teach for Nepal provides rigorous training both before and during the fellowship time to guarantee that our Fellows are prepared to succeed in tough situations and can place children in their classrooms on a transformative life path.

The Fellowship starts with a six-week rigorous pre-service training period. From the start, the Institute is the first step in becoming a successful leader in the classroom. The emphasis of this residential program will be on developing reflective inquiry, emotional awareness, and self-confidence. Fellows begin to develop the key abilities required to teach in the classroom. Expert teacher-trainers and resource people will assist Fellows in establishing the mentality and values required to be a great teacher. During this time, Fellows will also have the chance to receive firsthand teaching experience through a variety of practice teaching sessions.

Furthermore, the Institute will include a component on community relations to prepare Fellows to work with the school management team and community people in the location in which they are situated.

This six-week period is also an essential time to form long-lasting connections with other Fellows with whom you will be working for the following two years.
