About Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists Association

The Nepal Food Scientists and Technologists Association (NEFOSTA) is a distinguished and independent organization comprising Nepalese Food Scientists and Technologists. Established in 1984 in Dharan and officially registered in 1986 (Regd. No. 224/047-48, CDO office, Kathmandu), NEFOSTA operates as a non-profit entity. With its central office in Kathmandu, the association serves as a platform for professionals in the field.

NEFOSTA boasts a substantial membership base consisting of over 500 dedicated individuals. Additionally, it extends its reach beyond Kathmandu, with two Regional Chapters operating in Dharan and Hetauda. Moreover, NEFOSTA is actively working towards establishing chapters in foreign countries, aiming to expand its influence and collaboration on an international scale.

As an autonomous and professional organization, NEFOSTA strives to promote the development and advancement of food science and technology in Nepal. Its members engage in research, innovation, and dissemination of knowledge, with a focus on enhancing the quality and safety of food products.
