National Center for Education Development

शैक्षिक जनशक्ति विकास केन्द्र

National Center for Education Development (NCED) was established in 1993 under the Ministry of Education (MOE) (currently: Ministry of Education, Science and Technology), as an apex body for human resource development.

The National Centre for Educational Development (NCED) manages in-service training for lower secondary and secondary teachers.

About National Center for Education Development

Since its inception, the centre has been involved in activities such as teacher development, educational personnel capacity building, and educational research on behalf of the Ministry of Education. Previously, training programs were run by several institutions/organizations, making coordination and avoidance of duplication challenges.

As a result, it was understood that a more realistic, effective, and efficient strategy and efforts could be achieved through an integrated and coordinated approach. As a result, in 2004, the NCED amalgamated with the former Distance Education Centre and Secondary Education Development Centre to form a larger NCED that works with all areas and levels of teacher training, as well as management and professional training. NCED receives policy instructions from the Council for Educational Human Resource Development, which is chaired by the Minister of Education.
