Forum for Health and Technical Science is the leading national and professional organization representing directors of institutions offering 3-year technical education at the proficiency certificate level across Nepal with affiliation from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). This organization operates under a central office established in 2063/64 B.S.
The primary objective of the Forum for Health and Technical Science is to address the unemployment issue in Nepal by providing proficiency certificates and diploma-level technical education programs throughout the country. The organization aims to contribute to the nation's development by producing highly skilled and quality human resources while fostering mutual harmony, cooperation, and unity among private, non-governmental, and other educational organizations.
The organization comprises an active central committee, advisory committee, and regional working committees in eight areas. Mr. Khagendra Adhikari holds the position of Chairman. The provincial working committees represent directors of technical education institutions in their respective regions, including the West and Far West, Lumbini, Gandaki, Dhaulagiri, Narayani, Birgunj, Mithila, Purwanchal, and Kathmandu Valley.
To adapt to the state restructuring of Nepal, the recent decision by the Central Committee involves transforming the regional committees into provincial committees. This strategic move aims to align the organization with the changing administrative structure of the country.
Forum for Health and Technical Science currently encompasses 150 member technical schools across Nepal. These member institutions account for approximately 92 percent of the country's technical education capacity. They offer various courses within the CTEVT framework, covering health, engineering, agriculture and forestry sectors, tourism, and hospitality.
Through its collective efforts and collaboration, Forum for Health and Technical Science plays a vital role in advancing technical education in Nepal and contributing to the growth and prosperity of the nation.
