About Faculty of Buddhist Studies | Lumbini Buddhist University

The Faculty of Buddhist Studies at Lumbini Buddhist University caters to students interested in learning more about the Tibetan or Bhot Buddhist traditions and their Nepalese roots or variants. Its primary purpose is to provide advanced Bhot Buddhism knowledge to students having a Gumba or Monastic education background. Bhot Buddhism has retained Nepal's textual, meditative, oral, and educational traditions for both sutra and tantra. Still, it has also played an essential part in the growth of Buddhism in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Central Asia, and Mongolia.

The courses aim to assist students in comprehending the different dimensions and practices that have prevailed in Bhot Buddhism and other forms of Buddhism. The curriculum focuses on two goals: building a sound theoretical foundation for Bhot Buddhism practice and enhancing students' practical skills through various activities. To achieve this goal, the curriculum uses field trips, professional supervision, and ongoing reflection on the worth of course work to establish specific ethical ideals in students.
