Tribhuvan University gearing up to make history in the academic world with its 49th Convocation, slated to take place at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwar, on December 18, 2023. The convocation ceremony is set to become the largest convocation ever held worldwide, with 73,600 participants, out of which 12,415 will be physically present, adorned in academic gowns.
The convocation is poised to break records in various categories, including the largest number of females participating, highlighting the university's unwavering commitment to diversity, education, and academic excellence. Extensive research and collaboration with renowned organizations reveal that this event is expected to set records in multiple categories, encompassing physical presence, female participation, overall participation (including parents and guests), graduating students, and the broad scale of the convocation. The convocation data reveals remarkable figures, with 55.4% female participants and representation across various disciplines.
A significant achievement is that Tribhuvan University has received official confirmation from the World Book of Records, UK, and Official World Record, Spain, Europe—prestigious and credible alternative record-setting organizations. The university eagerly awaits confirmation from Guinness World Records, remaining optimistic about its imminent global recognition.
Additionally, Tribhuvan University has applied for the Iudex Quality Certification, a globally recognized accreditation from Quality Certification Limited, UK, underscoring the institution's commitment to quality education and innovative reformative approaches.
Prof. Dr. Shiva Lal Bhusal expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of breaking records and contributing to global recognition of the university's academic achievements and commitment to diversity and education. In terms of achievements, the university boasts an impressive 1,02,013 research articles published in the last 25 years, a global ranking by THE-WUR, and a substantial contribution to the workforce, with 1.7 million graduates in the previous 62 years.
