The Lions Leo Club of Kathmandu Chaabdi Baraahi has provided three hundred books to Arniko Secondary School in Kavre. This contribution is part of the "Building Our Library" campaign, where youth engage with the club and collect books through personal investments and donations.
The club's president, Manjita Pariyar, shared information with the school, covering various topics such as general knowledge, inspirational biographies, science-related literature, health-related materials, curriculum books, and novels. She also said the club plans to make two hundred books available in the coming days.
The school's principal, Balaram Chaulagain, highlighted the previous absence of a library despite having a designated library room. He expressed the situation where neither students nor teachers utilized the library due to the lack of books. However, with the acquisition of various books, students and teachers will benefit from the library, fostering language development and expanding knowledge.
In line with the recognition that "the right to read and learn is the youth's right," the club's youth have been running campaigns such as "Project Education," "Library Establishment," and "One Person, One Book." Anup Pariyar, a former teacher at the school, has been actively leading the library operation campaign.
