In a special function organized by the School of Arts, the new hattiban Premises of Kathmandu University was formally inaugurated by Founder Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Suresh R Sharma and newly appointed Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha on January 31, 2013.
The programmes was attended by Controller of Examination, Deans, Director of Student Affairs, Senior faculty and administrative staff and members of the School of Arts family.
Prof Jangam Chavan, senior most Professors in the School of Arts was the Chairperson of the function. Prof. Dal Bahadur Adhikary, Chairman of the National College, Prof. Chavan and Prof. Banskota welcome Prof Suresh Raj Sharma, Madame Sharma, Vice Chancellor Professor Shrestha with special bouquets. After the welcome speech by Prof. Banskota, each of the department of School of Arts present various functions.
The Centre for Arts and Design displayed paintings and presented gifts of paintings to the Professor Sharma, Madame Sharma and Professor Shrestha.
The Department of Development Studies organized the release of School of Arts Indicative Strategic Plan, recitation of a song and a poem and made a gift of a picture to Madame Sharma
The Department of Languages and Mass Communications displayed a video and sing a song by one the faculty member.
The Centre for Buddhist Studies presented Manjushri Statute to Founder VC, "Middle Way" Book (translation of Classic Buddhist) prepared by CBS Faculty To VC and a Shakyamuni Statue to the School of Arts.
The Department of Music sang the KU Song with their own music and also sang another special composition prepared by the students.
