In a ceremony held at the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel in Naxal, Kathmandu, the Model Institute of Technology (MIT) successfully launched the Academic Leadership Summit 2023, accompanied by an auspicious inauguration ceremony. Chairman of MIT, Surendra Subedi, and former Ambassador for America, Dr. Arjun Karki, jointly inaugurated the event. This momentous occasion was attended by prominent figures in Nepal's education sector.

The summit commenced with a resounding emphasis on the importance of providing quality education coupled with job opportunities within Nepal. Chairman Surendra Subedi, drawing attention to the significant number of students leaving the country for education abroad, stressed that investing in quality education comes at a cost but is an investment in Nepal's future. He expressed optimism that the Nepal Government, education experts, think tanks, and stakeholders would rally behind MIT in its quest to elevate education standards.

Former Vice-Chancellor of Mid-West University, Prof. Dr. Upendra Kumar Koirala, spoke about the pivotal role institutions like MIT play in retaining talent within Nepal. In his presentation titled "Need of Higher Education, Challenges, and Solutions," he emphasized that Nepal is a land of possibilities and fostering homegrown talent is essential to curb the brain drain.

Dr. Arjun Karki underscored the significance of skilled manpower as the backbone of Nepal's economy. He noted that the country's global reputation hinges on its skilled workforce and advocated for an updated curriculum, enriched content, and a systematic teaching approach to prepare the youth for a globalized society.

Ramakrishna Dahal, with years of experience in the education sector, announced the affiliation of MIT with International American University (IAU). This partnership aims to provide world-class knowledge and skills in Nepal by offering programs from renowned universities both in Nepal and abroad. MIT will soon commence admissions for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, offering various scholarships and accessible fees.

During the closing of the program, Rameshwar Aryal, Chairman of KMC Network, unveiled the exciting prospect that students can now complete American higher education within Nepal. He explained that students also have the option to continue their studies in the United States, offering flexibility and opportunities for educational growth. Aryal extended his gratitude to all the distinguished guests, concluding the event on a high note.
