Mid-Valley International College Launches Bachelor of Information Technology Program

Mid-Valley International College recently launched a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) at their college, which is affiliated with Malaysia's HELP University. The BIT program focuses on computer science, information systems, and related topics. BIT students take courses in database design, software engineering, computer systems and networks, database programming, and data structures. They may also be able to specialize in data analytics, mobile computing, or cybersecurity.

The course is designed to position the students to help drive the IT Industry to higher levels of innovation and success, introducing an innovative series of final-year projects and internship programs. That not only offer students valuable work experience but also provide specific knowledge and specialized skills for the industry. With the inclusion of soft skills & non-credit courses, the curriculum prepares students to succeed in the increasingly global marketplace and our complex and ever-changing society. The semester system ensures sufficient academic rigor and industry exposure.

Information technology has been a game changer in many industries and aspects of society. It has dramatically impacted how we communicate, access information, do business, and even entertain ourselves.  For example, manufacturing processes can be automated, artificial intelligence chatbots can handle customer service inquiries, and billing and accounting can be controlled by specialized software. 

The college always provides the necessary help and guidance for a student who wants to start their venture and become an entrepreneur. It places a high value on equipping students with the knowledge and abilities needed to tackle the novel challenge of an IT job. Both the commercial and technical segments of the computing business are hiring professionals in computing. Students can also pursue careers in the manufacturing, industry, small business, finance, public utility, education, or welfare sectors.
