Private schools are now required to publicly display the names of students receiving scholarships so that parents can easily see them. This initiative has been launched by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology to make the scholarship distribution system more transparent.

The Ministry has directed all private and institutional schools to make the names of selected scholarship recipients public. To facilitate this process, the Education Ministry has formally requested that the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration coordinate with all local levels nationwide to ensure transparency in scholarship distribution.

In its correspondence, the Ministry has directed that details of scholarship recipients be immediately updated in the Educational Management Information System (EMIS) so that parents can view them, and that such information be accessible to parents.

Additionally, all local levels have been instructed to monitor whether scholarship details have been updated and to take action against schools that fail to provide scholarships. According to Section 27 of the Compulsory and Free Education Act, 2075, private and institutional schools, as well as those operating under public educational trusts, are required to provide free education based on a specified proportion of their total student enrollment.

Similarly, Rule 151 of the Education Regulations, 2059 states that institutional schools must allocate at least 10 percent of their total enrolled students for scholarships to economically disadvantaged groups, including students with disabilities, girls, Dalits, and indigenous communities.

There have been widespread complaints in recent times about the misuse of scholarship quotas. This initiative by the Ministry aims to address such concerns raised by parents and students.
