The Janak Education Materials Centre (JEMC) has successfully distributed textbooks to all 77 districts ahead of the new academic session. Anil Kumar Jha, the Managing Director, stated that textbooks covering all subjects have been printed at nine different locations across the country for the academic year 2081 BS.
Following the outlined schedule, textbook distribution occurred from March 26 to April 10, with distribution points established in Biratnagar, Janakpur, Sanothimi-based central offices, Bharatpur, Pokhara, Butwal, Nepalgunj, Surkhet, and Dhangadhi. Jha expressed satisfaction with the timely distribution efforts, emphasizing the center's dedication to ensuring textbooks reach students promptly through distributors.
"We have fulfilled our responsibility to deliver textbooks to districts on time with utmost dedication," Jha shared, expressing optimism that this year's distribution will alleviate any complaints regarding delayed book deliveries.
In addition to timely distribution, JEMC has released the price list of textbooks from grade 3 to 12 for the upcoming academic session. Furthermore, the center has published the price list of classified distributors for each province, enhancing transparency in the distribution process.
Efforts for timely textbook availability were also notable last year, with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal advocating for prompt distribution. This year, Education Minister Sumana Shrestha inspected the office and press facilities of the Center in Bhaktapur, stressing the importance of timely textbook provision.
As the country gears up for the new academic session, the student enrollment campaign is set to kick off nationwide on April 14. The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, along with the Centre for Education and Human Resource Development, has urged local authorities and stakeholders to prepare and implement the student enrollment campaign facilitation action plan, ensuring smooth enrollment processes for all students.
