Empower Her: Advocating for Girls in Technology, a precursor to IT Meet 2023, presented in partnership with Hult Prize at Kathmandu University under the leadership of Priyanshu Sharma. The event, held successfully on November 25 at Nepal Technology Innovation Centre, Kathmandu University, was orchestrated by the Kathmandu University Computer Club, coordinated by Hult Prize at Kathmandu University, and generously sponsored by Clevero.

The primary objective of the event was to empower women in the field of technology, both within and beyond governmental spheres, by amplifying the voices of young women and collectively reshaping the future. This modest yet impactful initiative served as an exemplary starting point for advancing women's rights, promoting gender equality, and enhancing education in marginalized segments of the local community.

Empower Her truly stood out as an event dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and equipping young women with the confidence to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of technology. This impactful all-women's event seamlessly blended inspiration and innovation to foster empowerment, drawing participation from 93 registered girls. The event featured a welcome ceremony, a self-reflection program encouraging pride, a session led by a civil servant on collaboration with the government, a panel discussion exploring experiences and misconceptions of women in technology, Tech Horizons, an engaging game titled Idea Quest by HPKU, and concluded with successful photo sessions and a closing ceremony.

Distinguished speakers at the event included Gunakeshari Pradhan, former director of Nepal Telecom; Agma Malakar, IT associate expert with Planning Commission City KTM; Praynita Karki, Assistant Professor at Kathmandu University; Roja Kiran Basukala, Deputy Director at NTA and Vice President at CSRI; and Sarila Ngakhusi. Their contributions not only empowered girls in technology but also set inspiring examples in our society, motivating young women.

With a vision for social justice, tolerance, and confidence, providing individuals the opportunity to live in safety and dignity, Empower Her achieved grand success. HPKU expresses gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate on this event, which has significantly inspired young females to embrace technology despite prevailing misconceptions.
