The process for selecting the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of Sahid Dasharath Chand Health University has officially advanced with the formation of a three-member recommendation committee.
A meeting of the University Senate held on Wednesday, chaired by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Sasmit Pokharel, decided to form the committee under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Jaya Raj Awasthi.
The members of the committee include Prof. Dr. Lochana Shrestha and Prof. Dr. Dinesh Lamsal.
Prof. Dr. Awasthi is also known as the founding Vice-Chancellor of Sudurpaschim University.
According to the university, the committee has been formed in accordance with the Sahid Dasharath Chand Health University Act, 2082 BS.
The meeting also appointed six new members to the University Senate, ensuring representation from various academic and professional fields. The new members include distinguished personalities from science and technology, education, law, management, anthropology, and sociology, including two women representatives.
In addition, the Senate expressed gratitude to all outgoing members for their contributions to the university.
