Bhimdatta Municipality has launched the ‘Daughters and Daughters-in-Law Higher Education Study Scholarship’ program, specifically designed to increase women's access to higher education. The initiative aims to provide financial support to talented, Dalit, and underprivileged women within the municipal area, helping them overcome barriers to advanced learning.
Under this program, the municipality is prioritizing technical and vocational studies to ensure career readiness. According to Chief Administrative Officer Mahesh Bahadur Bam, two students pursuing an MBBS degree will be awarded Rs 200,000 each, while three students enrolled in Engineering programs will receive Rs 100,000 each as scholarship support.
In addition to medical and engineering tracks, the municipality is extending support to other academic fields. Six female students studying in various faculties, including Nursing, Pharmacy, Science, Management, Education, and Humanities, will be provided with Rs 50,000 each to assist with their educational expenses.
The local government believes this financial intervention will serve as a vital bridge for those struggling with the costs of university. Chief Administrative Officer Bam noted that the program is expected to provide significant relief to students facing financial hardships, emphasizing its particular value for daughters and daughters-in-law who wish to continue their academic journeys after marriage.
