Tansen Municipality is one of the 10 municipalities in Palpa District of Lumbini Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 50,792, comprising 23,414 males (46.1%) and 27,378 females (53.9%), with a literacy rate of 89.05%. Spanning 109.8 square kilometers, Tansen Municipality exhibits the population density of 463 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 14 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Tansen has 72 schools. Of these, 22 are private and 50 are public.
