Soru Rural Municipality is one of the 4 municipalities in Mugu District of Karnali Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 14,277, comprising 7,029 males (49.2%) and 7,248 females (50.8%), with a literacy rate of 65.46%. Spanning 365.8 square kilometers, Soru Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 39 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 11 wards.
