As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 51,504, comprising 25,015 males (48.6%) and 26,489 females (51.4%), with a literacy rate of 81.05%. Spanning 118.0 square kilometers, Panauti Municipality exhibits the population density of 436 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 12 wards.
