Panauti Municipality is one of the 13 municipalities in Kavrepalanchok District of Bagmati Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 51,504, comprising 25,015 males (48.6%) and 26,489 females (51.4%), with a literacy rate of 81.05%. Spanning 118.0 square kilometers, Panauti Municipality exhibits the population density of 436 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 12 wards.
According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Panauti has 52 schools. Of these, 18 are private and 33 are public.
