Mithila Municipality is one of the 18 municipalities in Dhanusha District of Madhesh Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 48,676, comprising 24,314 males (50.0%) and 24,362 females (50.0%), with a literacy rate of 72.5%. Spanning 187.93 square kilometers, Mithila Municipality exhibits the population density of 259 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 11 wards.
