Khatyad Rural Municipality is one of the 4 municipalities in Mugu District of Karnali Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 18,832, comprising 9,513 males (50.5%) and 9,319 females (49.5%), with a literacy rate of 69.95%. Spanning 281.12 square kilometers, Khatyad Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 67 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 11 wards.
