Katahariya Municipality is one of the 18 municipalities in Rautahat District of Madhesh Province. As per the 2021 census, the municipality has a total population of 45,821, comprising 23,489 males (51.3%) and 22,332 females (48.7%), with a literacy rate of 55.92%. Spanning 40.69 square kilometers, Katahariya Municipality exhibits the population density of 1,126 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 9 wards.
