Kakani Rural Municipality is one of the 12 municipalities in Nuwakot District of Bagmati Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 24,504, comprising 12,087 males (49.3%) and 12,417 females (50.7%), with a literacy rate of 69.29%. Spanning 87.97 square kilometers, Kakani Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 279 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 8 wards.
