Hima Rural Municipality is one of the 8 municipalities in Jumla District of Karnali Province. As per the 2021 census, the rural municipality has a total population of 12,191, comprising 6,154 males (50.5%) and 6,037 females (49.5%), with a literacy rate of 72.73%. Spanning 132.32 square kilometers, Hima Rural Municipality exhibits the population density of 92 people per square kilometer. Administratively, it is divided into 7 wards.

According to the latest publicly available report of the Center for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD), Hima has 17 schools. Of these, 17 are public. The breakdown includes 13 pre-schools, 17 basic schools, and 6 secondary schools. Among the secondary schools, 4 offer +2 programs.
